Bush Administration to bring deadly animal disease closer to livestock

Deadly Foot & Mouth Disease to US?

The truth is, is that the US already has a laboratory 100 miles northeast on New York. The Bush administration wants to move it the mainland to one of a few pre-determined spots. There have been satellite images of the prospected places and those photo's show livestock near by the proposed new lab sites.
This can potentially be a very serious problem, according a government simulation called "Crimson Sky" that simulates what would happen if livestock got infected and spread. In one report of the simulation, there would have to be a 25 mile long ditch to bury the dead animals just in Kansas alone. That is just an example of the potential damage something like could happen if it got out. It was assured that they have better security measures to cover all potential problems. I personally don't see why it has to be moved in the first place. I would think that there is a lab out at sea for a reason.
